Geneva International Motor Show is one of the earliest automobile exhibitions. With a background of more than a century, the event has hosted almost all major internal combustion engine models in the history of automobile, since 1905. The event has become an obligation for the organizers, as this would be the 20th consecutive year to hold this show. This march is scheduled to carry 84th episode of Salon International de Auto from the day 6 to 16. Let me now describe a brief outline and preview of the upcoming event.
This year’s Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) will experience the innovations and creations of almost every auto brand around the world. As given on the official website, there are a total of 191 registered automakers that will be occupying a stall to display their latest designs, conceptions and productions. You will hardly find any marque not listed. The participants range from high performance luxury and sports car brands like Bugatti, Rolls Royce, and Lamborghini to economic car manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, and Suzuki. Apart from the manufacturers, other companies that are somehow involved in the auto manufacturing processes will also be displaying their creations.
From the previous couple of years, Geneva Auto Show has been appreciating the efforts of automakers with an award named ‘Car of the Year’. As usual, this year’s event would also highlight the winning car having extraordinary features in terms of speed, engine, design, comfort, safety, and others. To reach a neutral decision, a jury has been comprised of 58 automotive journalists from 22 countries. These individuals have already been coordinating to evaluate each car model that could be the one. The initial screening processes have been completed, and 7 favorite vehicles have been chosen to compete for the final round. This round will definitely record the public opinion.
The finalists in this regard are:
This year, organizing authorities of GIMS have collaborated with French automaker Peugeot to hold a contest. Winners of the contest will be awarded with an all new Peugeot 308, the same car listed among the finalists for Car of the Year. All they need from you is the personal facts, a short survey about the company and an extremely easy question. If you are interested, be quick and logon to the Big Contest’s webpage and submit your claim. The winners will be announced and rewarded in the later days of event.
Like every year, 2014’s Geneva International Motor Show audience will experience the big premieres of the newest models from renowned auto brands. As reported so far, many stands will lift up the curtains for the newest models of renowned auto brands including Brabus StarTech, Mazda2 and a prototype Huzami, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Octavia Scout, and many more. The event will also bring us some future generation automotive technologies like nanoFLOWCELL AG.
With each passing day, the anticipations connected to 2014 Geneva International Auto Show are rising. Let us see what new experiences we get at this year’s most acclaimed auto show.
