As all car lovers are aware that prototypes are actually the concept cars which are built to showcase the new upcoming vehicle. Prototypes are generally revealed at motor shows, to observe the reaction and response of the customers and car enthusiasts.
Here are the details about some of the most awaited prototypes that are going to be produced in the coming 2, 3 years.
The much awaited Honda Acura NSX Type R will be released to the public market by 2020. The Type R is the amped up version of the NSX. The Acura NSX has a 427-kilowatt motor which can produce a power of 573 horses. As per the rumors, the NSX Type R is expected to have a more powerful engine which will be a 3.5-liter biturbo hybrid V6 engine and the shape is also heard of being changed according to inside news the Type R will have a whole new set of aerodynamics.
Finally, the most talked about Porsche Mission E has an official name; the Porsche Taycan. The Porsche Taycan is an all-electric vehicle. It is also expected to make its arrival in 2020. The Taycan prototype has yielded some amazing test results on the laps of Nurburgring. Taycan is expected to show a sprint time of 0 – 60 mph in a mere fraction of 3.0 seconds and its price is expected to start somewhere near $100,000.
The rumors were confirmed when Sergio Marchionne Ferrari CEO said that the Ferrari SUV would be ready most probably by the end of 2019. The project of the Ferrari SUV has been assigned the code name of FX16. The SUV is expected to replace the GTC4Lusso. Ferrari has aimed to take on the 250mph Tesla Roadster with its upcoming SUV; the fastest electric SUV.
One of the all-time favorite sports car Toyota Supra is finally ready to hit back the markets after a nap time of almost 16 years. Its FT-1 concept was revealed back in 2014 and a new GR Racing Concept was released a few months ago. This new Supra will share its platform with the BMW Z4. It will have a carbon fiber body and a straight six-cylinder engine which will come with a single turbocharger. The power output is, expected to be around 335 horsepower and it will produce a total torque of 332 lb./ft.
The all-time favorite luxury sports car Porsche 911 is getting upgraded as well. In the new lineup, there’s a 911 Turbo S, which will be having a total power of around 600 strong stallions. It is also expected to have 3.0 liter, flat six engine. The interior will be a bit more luxurious and spacious. There will be an all-new touchscreen unit also. With the improved aerodynamics, the Turbo S can reportedly do a sprint time 0 – 62 mph in under 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 205 mph.
The most loved muscle car of all ages Ford Mustang is coming back with a bang in 2019. Ford working in collaboration with Hennessey is offering an upgrade for the 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. The most anticipated feature of the current GT350 is the sound of anger and aggression that comes from its engine bay. The 5.2 liter V8 flat-plane crankshaft engine makes a wonderfully aggressive noise but this noise is going to get amplified in the GT500 because according to the rumors the GT500 will be using an engine version of GT350 V8 along with a 2.6 liters supercharger. This combination looks perfect for making a mighty roaring sound.
